Rip Van Winkle Country Club a Catskills golf landmark
Our 9 hole Donald Ross golf course at the base of the Catskill Mountains is sure to capture everyone's hearts! There are public and membership facilities, tournaments and leagues for all, fundraisers, sporting events and fun for groups of all sizes.
More changes are taking place at “The Rip.” Rip Van Winkle Country Club, Palenville (Greene County) is announcing the opening of their new pro shop and locker room facility. This new addition overlooking the Catskill Mountains is a separate entity to the club house and is housing many new golf products and supplies.
The Rip Van Winkle Country Club is an historic 9-hole golf course designed by famed golf course architect Donald Ross in 1920. The course is continuously being updated, but maintaining accordance with the original plan. The course is in excellent condition making it one of the best golf courses in the area.
Rip Van Winkle Country Club also offers gracious space for every occasion. Our elegant dining rooms overlooking the Catskill Mountains will ensure that your special day is a truly memorable occasion. We'll host your graduation party, corporate dinner, family reunion, birthday party, and more. From setting menus to setting décor, our friendly staff and management take care of every detail.
Along with the banquet facility and golf course the restaurant has become the place to eat looking at the Catskill Mountains. You can have lunch or dinner overlooking the golf course while being entertained by the golfers. We are open for lunch Tuesday - Sunday 11:30-4:00. Our tavern menu available Tuesday - Saturday 11:30 9pm, dinners are Thurdays-Saturday nights 5pm-9pm. Reservations are required!
Rip Van Winkle Country Club is located on Route 23A in Palenville. From Saugerties, take Route 32 north to the Route 23A intersection. Turn right at the light; the course is on the left.

supports senior class scholarships with August 17
tournament
The 10th Annual Rotary Club of Cairo Education Scholarships Tournament at Blackhead Mountain tees off on August 17 with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, scramble format. The $75 entry fee per person includes lunch, golf, cart, refreshments, dinner and prizes. Tee sponsorships are available. Proceeds benefit Cairo-Durham senior class scholarships. The 2nd Annual Charles Haas Memorial Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, September 27 at Rondout Golf Club. The four-man scramble format will start at 1 p.m. Registration and lunch will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The $90 per person entry fee includes lunch, green fees, cart, refreshments on the course, assorted prizes and dinner following the tournament. The Doug Maloney Memorial Tournament will be held at Rondout Golf Club on September 28. The event begins with an 8-8:45 a.m. breakfast and a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Dinner follows at approximately 1 p.m. Proceeds support Gateway Community Industries. Call Evelyn Flavin (845-331-1261, ext. 224).

at Apple Greens on September 15
Bloomington Fire Department will host a golf tournament on September 15 at Apple Green's Golf Course in New Paltz. The fee is $85 per golfer and the format is scramble. It will be a 9:00am shotgun start. The fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, continental breakfast, bag lunch, buffet dinner. There will be a raffle and prizes awarded after dinner.
