Alapaha's executive course tests skills from tee to green
Alapaha golf links is a executive golf course on Sawkill Road in Kingston. It offers a fair test of golf for golfers of all skills. With six par 3s and three par 4s, you can work on your whole game from tee to green.
Hole 1 - Good first starting hole, 110 yards to a soft green
Hole 2 - 125 yards to a green protected by bunkers on the left and right
Hole 3 - One of the toughest holes on the course, it's 155 yards to an elevated green with links style mounds around the green
Hole 4 – The shortest hole on the course at 105 yards, but beware – a tree blocks a high shot to the green so you must hit a knock down to have a chance.
Hole 5 – The first par 4 on the course is 275 yards with a pond left and out of bounds right, a straight tee shot is a must.
Hole 6 - You can let the driver rip on the 320 yard par 4. There is water on the right side of the fairway so the bailout is the left side.
Hole 7 – A dogleg par 4 of 300 yards, hit it to the right side of the fairway to have the best angle to the green.
Hole 8 - Alapaha’s signature hole is the 8th. About 130 yards long with water in front of the green, you must shape your shot for this hole. Wind from the water makes it difficult to hit the green.
Hole 9 – The finishing hole is 165 yards and has a tricky two tiered green
Alapaha also has a 25 acre driving range with a grass hitting area and mats with a cover for the hot and rainy weather.
A new practice putting green is also available.
Alapaha also has a fully stocked pro shop that carries brands such as Callaway, Ping, Cleveland, Taylor Made, and Srixon. Also, lessons are available with PGA golf professional John Durcan.
Alapaha offers club repair as well, specializing in re-gripping and re-shafting broken clubs (call for pricing).
